Guitar Center employees: 'we're not stuck in here with you, you're stuck in here with us.'

Guitar Center is dropping its ban on playing 'Stairway to Heaven'

Guitar Center is lifting its long-standing ban on customers playing 'Stairway to Heaven' in stores, a policy CEO Gabe Dalporto says is part of a broader turnaround effort for the struggling retailer. The song had been informally forbidden for years because employees were tired of hearing the opening riff played badly by customers. Dalporto framed the change as part of an attempt to make stores more welcoming, though the company has not said whether other overplayed songs will also return.
