Jester publishes AI-generated satirical commentary on current events, in the app and on the jestermemes.com website. All Content is opinion and editorial expression — not factual reporting. By using Jester you acknowledge and accept this.
"Jester", "we", "us", and "our" refer to Jester App (independent developer), operator of the Jester mobile application, the jestermemes.com website, and associated backend services.
"Service" means the Jester mobile application, the jestermemes.com website, its backend API, content delivery infrastructure, and related features.
"Content" means all text, images, and other material published through the Service, including AI-generated satirical commentary.
"User", "you", and "your" refer to any individual who downloads, installs, or uses the Service.
"AI-Generated Content" means images, captions, commentary ("The Take"), and other material produced by artificial intelligence operating under Jester's configuration.
"Original Article" means a third-party news article that serves as the factual basis for AI-Generated Content.
By downloading, installing, creating an account, visiting the jestermemes.com website, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy, incorporated herein by reference.
If you do not agree to these Terms in their entirety, you must not use the Service.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using it you represent and warrant that: (a) you are at least 13 years old; (b) you have legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement; (c) your use does not violate applicable law; and (d) information you provide is accurate and complete.
Users aged 13–18 must have parental or guardian consent.
We may modify these Terms at any time. For material changes, we will provide notice via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
Jester is NOT a news agency, news publisher, or journalistic outlet. All Content is AI-generated editorial opinion and satire, not factual reporting. We do not report, verify, or fact-check news. Satire is protected expression under Indian law and most other jurisdictions. Content is clearly identified as satirical commentary and must not be interpreted as a statement of fact.
All original reporting belongs to its respective publishers. Links to Original Articles are provided for reference only.
You acknowledge that: (a) AI-Generated Content may be imperfect or exaggerated; (b) it does not express the views of any human editor; (c) AI systems can make errors and Jester makes no warranty regarding accuracy; (d) Jester applies safety filters and periodic human review but cannot review every piece of Content before publication; and (e) you will not rely on AI-Generated Content as a substitute for factual news sources.
Jester may remove, modify, or expire any Content at any time without notice.
7.1 Jester's Property. The Service, including its design, software, trademarks, and AI-Generated Content, is owned by or licensed to Jester and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. No part may be copied, reproduced, or distributed without prior written consent.
7.2 Limited Licence. Subject to these Terms, Jester grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the Service on your personal device for personal, non-commercial purposes.
7.3 Feedback. Any feedback you provide grants Jester an irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use it without obligation of confidentiality or compensation.
7.4 Third-Party News Content. Jester aggregates publicly available RSS headlines to inform AI commentary. We do not reproduce full articles. All original reporting belongs to its respective publishers. See Section 9 for copyright complaints.
7.5 Sharing. You may share screenshots for personal, non-commercial, commentary, or educational purposes provided you clearly attribute the content as Jester satirical commentary and do not present it as factual news.
You agree not to:
If you believe material on the Service infringes your copyright, send a written notice to supportjester@gmail.com that includes: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) identification of the allegedly infringing material with sufficient detail to locate it; (c) your contact information; (d) a good-faith belief statement that the use is not authorised; and (e) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and you are the rights holder or authorised agent. We will review valid notices and take appropriate action. Repeat infringers' access will be terminated.
Jester provides an in-app report mechanism on every piece of Content. Content accumulating three or more independent reports is automatically removed from feeds pending human review. Permanently violating Content will be removed. Submitting bad-faith reports to suppress legitimate satire is itself a Terms violation and may result in account suspension.
The Service is supported by advertising: Google AdMob in the app (free tier) and Google AdSense on the jestermemes.com website. By using the free tier or the website you consent to the delivery of advertisements as described in our Privacy Policy. Jester does not sell your personal data to advertisers. Advertising does not influence editorial or satirical Content.
12.1 By You. You may stop using the Service at any time. To delete your account, contact supportjester@gmail.com.
12.2 By Jester. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for breach of these Terms or harm to other users.
12.3 Effect. Upon termination, your licence ends immediately. Data is handled per our Privacy Policy. Sections 5, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17 survive termination.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JESTER EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT; WARRANTIES THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE; WARRANTIES AS TO THE ACCURACY OR COMPLETENESS OF ANY CONTENT; AND WARRANTIES THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (A) IN NO EVENT SHALL JESTER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, GOODWILL, OR BUSINESS OPPORTUNITY, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. (B) JESTER'S TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF: (i) THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO JESTER IN THE THREE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (ii) INR 1,000 (INDIAN RUPEES ONE THOUSAND).
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, gross negligence, or wilful misconduct.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Jester and its officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, and suppliers from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use or misuse of the Service; (b) your breach of these Terms; (c) your violation of applicable law; (d) your infringement of any third-party right; or (e) any false report submitted through the in-app reporting mechanism.
16.1 Good Faith. Before initiating formal proceedings, contact supportjester@gmail.com and give us 30 days to respond.
16.2 Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict of law principles.
16.3 Jurisdiction. Any dispute not resolved informally shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in New Delhi, India.
16.4 Class Action Waiver. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, YOU AGREE THAT ANY CLAIM MUST BE BROUGHT IN YOUR INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY, NOT AS A CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS, CONSOLIDATED, OR REPRESENTATIVE ACTION.
16.5 Time Limit. Any claim must be brought within one (1) year of when you knew or should have known of its basis, or it is permanently barred.
Entire Agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Jester regarding the Service.
Severability. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, it shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions continue in full force.
No Waiver. Failure to enforce any provision does not waive Jester's right to do so. No waiver is effective unless in writing.
Assignment. You may not assign rights under these Terms without written consent. Jester may assign freely, including on merger or acquisition.
Force Majeure. Jester is not liable for delays caused by acts of God, natural disasters, government actions, internet outages, or third-party service failures.
