First Ever Recorded Sea Turtle Nests on America’s West Coast
Two olive ridley sea turtles laid eggs on Southern California beaches in September, the first recorded nesting of the species on the US West Coast. One nest was at Seal Beach, another eight miles north at Huntington Beach. Officials recovered 204 eggs and moved them to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
