A phase 3 trial of 2,047 adults with obesity and type 2 diabetes in eight countries found retatrutide, an unapproved drug, reduced body weight by up to 18.8% over 80 weeks. At 12 mg, 47% lost at least 20% of starting weight. It also improved blood sugar, blood pressure, lipids and inflammation. Results were published in the Lancet.
