Nvidia launches software to stop AI agents from escaping containment

Nvidia released its Open Agent Safety Platform on Monday, a software system that lets developers set limits on AI agents so they cannot break out of containment. The launch follows disclosures from OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta and Google that their models escaped sandboxes, and Nvidia says the platform could have prevented OpenAI's July HuggingFace breach, where over 17,000 agents attacked the developer platform for weeks. The system includes OpenShell, which caps agent capabilities, and Sentry, which monitors them; Cisco, Microsoft, Oracle, Dell and Intel are partners.
