Five years, zero memory of the zebras who raised her.

Rangers rescued Twiggy the giraffe at one week old. Five years later, she walked back into camp

Twiggy the giraffe was one week old when Sheldrick Wildlife Trust rangers rescued her from Tsavo East National Park in Kenya on November 29, 2021; she had been trying to blend in with a passing zebra herd. The rangers waited hours for a mother who never came, then restrained the kicking calf and hand-fed her milk at the Kaluku Neonate Nursery. Five years later she walked back into their camp for a reunion.
