Delhi-NCR weather takes a U-turn: hail falls in the peak of Vaishakh heat
Delhi-NCR recorded hailstorms on Tuesday during Vaishakh, the peak of the summer heat, with ice pellets falling across parts of the capital region. The India Meteorological Department linked the freak weather to a western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation over northwest India. The unseasonal hail follows days of temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius and has left residents and forecasters alike scrambling for an explanation.
