No fine for copy of Century Illustrated returned 132 years late to library
Concord Public Library in New Hampshire ran a yearlong fine amnesty and got back a September 1894 issue of Century Illustrated Monthly Magazine. John Hanson, 84, of nearby Barrington, returned it after seeing the amnesty in the Concord Monitor, saying he never checked it out himself. The overdue fine would have totaled $12,055 over 48,220 days. The library will not recirculate it.
