John Leguizamo to David Ellison: 'Think of What Americans Need, Not Your Pocket'

John Leguizamo used his Career Achievement Award speech at the Critics Choice Association's 6th Annual Celebración of Cinema & Television on Friday to urge David Ellison, incoming head of the merged Paramount-Skydance, to consider workers and the industry rather than his own pocket. The deal bars the sale of the Paramount and Warner Bros. lots in California for at least five years, a condition Leguizamo called insufficient because 'people have to plan for the rest of their lives.' He was among over 4,000 creatives who signed an April open letter opposing the merger.
