Scientists Found One of The 'Chunkiest' Squid-Like Creatures Ever Known
Paleontologists described a new Jurassic belemnite species, Wyoteuthis linsterorum, from two fossils found in the Redwater Shale of Wyoming's Sundance Formation. The rostrum measures about 60 mm in diameter and 160–175 mm long, making it the thickest known belemnite, with an estimated total length of 55–60 cm.
