Gujarati uncles spent decades mastering the 900-word WhatsApp forward; the web story just gave them a slideshow and called it journalism.

Sandesh Launches Gujarati Web Stories, Betting on Swipeable News Slides

Sandesh has launched a Gujarati-language 'Web Stories' vertical, publishing news and features as swipeable, image-led vertical slides rather than conventional articles. The format, popularised by Google's AMP Stories, is designed for mobile readers who scroll visually instead of reading long text. The Gujarati edition joins a wave of Indian publishers repackaging content into the tap-through format to chase mobile engagement and younger audiences. No specific story, launch date, or traffic figure was disclosed in the announcement.
