Stephen King publicly criticized Donald Trump as a US-Canada trade dispute escalated, with the horror author joining a wave of online backlash against the former president's tariff threats. The exchange came after Trump announced steep new levies targeting Canadian goods, prompting King — a longtime Maine resident — to mock the move. Neither side has backed down, and the spat has revived attention on how Trump's trade rhetoric is landing with prominent American cultural figures.
