Man Who Brings Coffee to Interview Is Unprofessional, Says Man Who Comes to Work Drunk

An advice columnist scolded job candidates for bringing coffee to interviews, calling it unprofessional and disrespectful to the hiring manager. The piece drew backlash from readers who pointed out the columnist has publicly described showing up to work drunk on multiple occasions, including a 2019 account of drinking vodka from a water bottle during meetings and a 2021 incident where he was escorted out of an office holiday party. The columnist has not responded to the criticism, and his employer declined to comment.
