Fernando Alonso to contest 2026 Dakar Rally for Aston Martin

Fernando Alonso, the 44-year-old two-time F1 champion, will contest the 2026 Dakar Rally in Saudi Arabia from January 1 to 15, driving a Dacia prepared by Prodrive and rebadged as an Aston Martin. His co-driver is Marc Coma, a five-time Dakar motorcycle winner who navigated for Alonso in 2020, when the pair finished 13th overall in a Toyota. Dacia withdrew from the event after Nasser Al-Attiyah won his sixth title. Alonso returns to F1 testing in Bahrain from February 24 to 27.
