Spielberg and 'Goodfellas' Writer to Film Saga of Mobster Sammy 'The Bull' Gravano

Steven Spielberg's Amblin is developing a film about Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, the Gambino underboss whose 1992 testimony against John Gotti helped convict the "Teflon Don" of murder and racketeering. Goodfellas and Casino writer Nick Pileggi has completed a script, and Ed Burns — who acted for Spielberg in Saving Private Ryan — is in talks to direct. Gravano admitted involvement in 19 mob murders but served only five years in 1994 after cooperating, before an Arizona ecstasy arrest in 2000 put him back in prison.
