Southeast Asia bans under-16s from high-risk social media
Indonesia and several Southeast Asian countries have barred under-16s from "high-risk" social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok. Enforcement has been minimal: Inne Abidin, a Jakarta-based writer, says her 14-year-old son still uses both apps plus Minecraft and Roblox, simply by entering a false birth year at signup.
