Olive ridley turtles dug nests on a California beach this spring, the first recorded natural sea turtle nesting ever documented on the U.S. West Coast, NOAA's West Coast Fisheries division announced on Facebook. The species is the smallest sea turtle, with adults reaching about 100 pounds, and normally nests in tropical waters of the Pacific, Indian and Atlantic oceans. Officials gave no count of the nests.
