Havan billionaire pledges R$2.2M to launch Brazil's newest emergency unit

Brazilian retail billionaire Luciano Hang pledged R$2.2 million on October 8 to equip Barra Velha's new 24-hour emergency care unit. The funding, raised during a meeting inside the empty facility, covers necessary medical equipment. The city completed the R$14.7 million building in February 2026, but it lacked the diagnostic tools and beds required to open for public use.
