American Airlines Boeing 737 Returns To Boston After Emergency Declared Over Suspected Fuel Leak

An American Airlines Boeing 737 bound out of Boston turned around and landed back at Logan after the crew declared an emergency over what they suspected was a fuel leak. The jet burned fuel to get down to a safe landing weight before touching down; no injuries were reported. American said it pulled the aircraft from service for inspection, and a replacement plane carried passengers on to their destination. The FAA is looking into what the fuel system was actually doing.
