4,917 tickets win when Pick 3 lottery drawing comes up 0-0-0

The North Carolina Education Lottery said Monday night's Pick 3 drawing came up 0-0-0, and 4,917 tickets hit the top prize for a total payout of $1.7 million. "Trips" — three identical digits — are among the most popular picks, so the win was spread across thousands of players rather than one. Each ticket is worth $500 or $250, depending on whether the player paid a dollar or 50 cents.
