the fourth term isn't a term, it's an extended remix

FIFA's Infantino ineligible for re-election, says former governance chief

Miguel Maduro, former head of FIFA's governance committee, said Gianni Infantino cannot stand for a fourth term in 2027 because Article 33 of FIFA's statutes limits presidents to three terms. Infantino has argued his first shortened spell, from 2016 to 2019, should not count. FIFA's council backed him in 2022. FairSquare has urged member associations to declare him ineligible before the candidacy deadline.
