Hackers Are Turning Supermarket Freezers Into Heaters Across Europe

Cyberattacks on internet-connected refrigeration systems hit supermarkets in Belgium, Sweden, Estonia, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Finland and Ireland on November 2, with freezer temperatures reportedly reaching 50°C. The incidents follow an October 12 attack in France that affected around 700 sites, forcing retailers to discard large quantities of food. Officials linked some systems to Danish supplier Danfoss, and experts warn India's cold chain faces similar risks.
