‘Cuti’ Romero handed unenviable task of following Messi as Argentina's captain
Cristian 'Cuti' Romero, 28, has been named Argentina captain by coach Lionel Scaloni following Lionel Messi's international retirement. Romero, who joined Atlético Madrid this season, wore the armband and scored in Argentina's 4-0 win over Bolivia. Messi, 39, will formally hand over the captaincy on Tuesday at the Monumental before nearly 90,000 fans in his final match against Benin.
