Guillermo Del Toro Defends 'Digger,' Calls the Film 'Daring, Bold and Cinematically Complex'

Guillermo del Toro spent the weekend on X defending Alejandro G. Iñárritu's Warner Bros. black comedy Digger, calling it 'daring, bold and cinematically complex' and comparing its hostile reviews to those that greeted The Big Lebowski and The King of Comedy. The film opened to 51% on Rotten Tomatoes and earned just $3.4 million domestically on Friday, with weekend estimates of $7.5 million against a budget north of $125 million. Tom Cruise, the film's lead, also posted his support on Saturday.
