Samoa PM Apologises After Leaked Video Shows Nazi Salute at Family Gathering
Samoan Prime Minister La'auli Leuatea Schmidt apologised on Monday after leaked video showed him saying "Heil Hitler" and making a Nazi salute. Schmidt said the footage came from a private family gathering almost twenty years ago and was never meant to be seen publicly. He called the words and gesture inappropriate and capable of causing offence and hurt. The leak arrives as he positions himself as a staunchly pro-Israel leader.
